Refund & Adjustment Policy

1. General Policy

Raipur Municipal Corporation provides an online payment facility for municipal services such as property tax and other applicable charges. Users are advised to carefully verify all payment details before making any online payment.

2. Excess / Duplicate Payment

If a user makes excess or duplicate payment due to any reason such as:

  • By mistake entering a higher amount
  • Multiple payments for the same property
  • Technical or transaction error

The amount may either be refunded to the user or adjusted in the next financial year, subject to verification by the Raipur Municipal Corporation.

3. Refund Process

  1. The user must submit a written application requesting the refund.
  2. The application must be submitted to the Zone Commissioner of the respective zone where the property is registered.
  3. The Zone Commissioner will verify the payment details and initiate the refund process.
  4. After verification, the file will be forwarded to the Finance Department at the Head Office of Raipur Municipal Corporation.
  5. Upon approval by the Finance Department, the refund request will be processed.
  6. The refund will be initiated through the authorized bank/payment system based on the approved records.

4. Adjustment in Next Financial Year (Samayojan)

Instead of a refund, users may also request adjustment of the excess payment in the next financial year. The process is as follows:

  1. The user must submit a written application to the concerned Zone Commissioner requesting adjustment.
  2. The Zone Commissioner will forward the application to the Revenue Coordinator.
  3. After verification of records, the excess payment will be recorded and adjusted in the next financial year in the municipal tax system.

5. Processing Time

The refund or adjustment process may take reasonable administrative time as it involves verification and approval from multiple municipal departments. Users are requested to cooperate and provide all necessary documents if required.

  • Refunds are processed only after proper verification and approval by the concerned authorities.
  • Raipur Municipal Corporation reserves the right to approve or reject refund requests based on official records and municipal rules.
